This past month I was thrilled to offer my first Heirloom photo session event. The turn out was so wonderful I added two more days. Sessions were short and sweet in studio in South Salem, NY

Heirloom photos are cherished for their timeless appeal. They are simple, class, and personal. The goal is to capture your child at this perfect stage of childhood with simple timeless outfits. These photos are meant to be framed around your house. The simple style matches any decor.

Although Heirloom photos are great to start once a child can sit on their own, we had some great success with younger babies laying down or being propped up by parents. I know toddlers don’t love to sit still but I have some great tricks up my sleeve to capture the images! I also love a modern twist on adding some personality shots to your gallery as well.

Sessions were 15 minutes long and with extra time we were able to capture sibling shots as well!

The next question many people ask is what to wear for Heirloom pictures. There are some helpful tips here

-I like to recommend a soft color palette, the goal is for eyes to be drawn to your child’s face and now distracted with bright colors etc.

-Whites and creams offer a classic clean look that compliments the white background.

-Pale pastels add a gentle touch of color.

-Collars and ruffle tops frame the face nicely.

-For girls smocking and embroidery are nice subtle details.
